CEO & Chair

Rick has over 20 years experience in the public market place. His leadership positions in various organizations over the last 35 years provides the company with experience in developing short and long term corporate goals, securing financings, building cost-effective property development plans, creating effective communication platforms and managing regulatory functions.

Mr. John A. Roozendaal, B.Sc. Geol.
President and Director

John is the founding director of  VMS Ventures Inc.  He has been involved with the mineral exploration industry for over 15 years, focusing on precious, base and specialty metals projects in North America. Of particular significance were exploration programs for nickel in the Thompson Nickel Belt of Manitoba and for high-grade shear-hosted gold in the Yellowknife gold camp. 

John also has experience with various aspects of corporate governance through his involvement with private and public boards of directors.

Dr. George H. Gale B.A. (Ed.), B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Vice President of Exploration, Director

George has been a mineral deposits geologist for more than 40 years, during which he developed expertise on Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide deposits with a particular focus in the Snow Lake VMS belt.

He was the head of the Mineral Deposits Section of the Manitoba Geological Survey from 1977 to 1999 and brings his extensive knowledge and experience with Manitoba geology to all property decisions at VMS Ventures Inc. George also plays an integral role in the planning and execution of the Company's overall exploration strategy.

Mr. Evan Sleeman
CFO and Director

Evan has been involved in the mineral exploration industry for 40 years. During his career, he has held the position of President and Founder of a number of public companies including Arizona Star Resources Corp. 

Evan has extensive experience in field exploration, property negotiation and corporate governance.

Mr. Keith Patey
Director of Communications

Keith has worked as a corporate communications consultant for the past 20 years.  He has prepared and managed media relationship programs for a variety of public companies. 

Keith has presented to corporate finance professionals, analysts, brokers and has built strong relationships in the investment community.

Mr. Jay Butterworth
Director

Jay has extensive experience in mineral exploration and property acquisition in the western United States and Canada and has been involved with public companies for over 30 years.

Mr. Bill McWilliam
Director

Since graduating from UBC in 1965 with a degree in Economics and a minor in Anthropology, Bill has worked as a professional manager in a variety of resource based investment and exploration businesses.

As a founder or co-founder of several successful resource companies, Mr. McWilliam has demonstrated both his ability to lead and deliver results.
