Rare Earth Metals Commencement of Drilling - South Bay Nickel

Rare Earth Metals Corp. is pleased to announce that drilling has commenced on
its South Bay Nickel Property near Leaf Rapids Manitoba.
Further to a news release dated February 5, 2004 announcing the anticipated
starting date of February 10, 2004, had not been met due to mechanical breakdown
and crew availability. These unforeseen circumstances have now been rectified
and drilling is underway. A second rig has been transported to the property and
will be operational within the next few days. The program will be completed
within the perceived time frame with the utilization of two drill rigs and is
expected to take approximately two and one half weeks.
Additionally drilling has commenced at the Assean Lake Gold property in
Manitoba, a second rig has been mobilized to the property and will be
operational within the next few days.
Assay results from these two programs will be disseminated as they become
available.
